Destinations across Mexico are officially reopening and have certifications from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) thereby meeting the health and hygiene criteria. Take advantage of outdoor adventure activities including: boating, deep-sea fishing, golf, ATV riding, hiking, diving, tequila tasting tours as examples.
As of June 20, the market will open to allow visitors to enjoy this popular destination once again. The region has received its global safety stamp of approval that recognizes safe travels protocols.
To celebrate the reopening of the destination, Los Cabos Tourism Board, has partnered with American Express, to host its first live concert with the Los Cabos Symphonic Orchestra overlooking the Bay of Cabo San Lucas at Sunset Monalisa. The concert will be streaming live on Sunday, June 21, at 8 p.m. MST.
As of June 15, beaches located in front of hotels has opened for guests. Hotels are currently operating at 25% capacity while dining establishments may operate at 50% as long as safety protocols have been put in place. For the time being, hotel gyms and spas will remain closed.
At airports, travelers are offered health assessments and screenings and will find various hand sanitizing stations throughout. It is mandatory to use face masks and maintain social distancing.
The destination is ready to welcome back international travelers and hotels, restaurants and businesses are allowed to reopen. Currently, they are expected to operate at 30% capacity and to maintain social distancing.
Riviera Nayarit’s nearest airport, Puerto Vallarta International Airport, is providing health checks with temperature-monitoring of all passengers arriving and departing via thermal imaging cameras.
The State of Yucatán has also received its “Travel Safety Stamp” from the WTTC.
