According to the European Best Destinations Organization (EBD) which falls under the European Commission’s EDEN Network, there is a list of top 20 vacation spots that have been deemed safe for travel which means these places have been the least affected by Covid-19. This is defined by up to 600 times fewer cases.
The destinations listed below have secured health policies and guidelines in regards to accommodations, shops, and restaurants and have supplied essential materials to help prevent the spread of the virus. All will open to travelers starting July 1. We have selected the ones we see as the most popular destinations.
1. Tbilisi, Georgia
The city offers diverse interests ranging from culture to gastronomy and architecture.
2. Corfu, Greece
A perfect place for sun and relaxation.
3. Cavtat, Croatia
Considered a celebrity hangout, this city has plenty to offer from gastronomy and culture to nature and water activities. Croatia is among the European countries least affected by coronavirus with up to 20 times fewer infected people per million inhabitants than in other European countries.
4. Azores Islands, Portugal
Located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the Azores is an archipelago of nine islands and has one of the largest whale sanctuaries.
5. Preveza, Greece
Enjoy some of the longest beaches, delicious Mediterranean cuisine, and plenty of yachts. Greece is one of the least affected countries.
6. Batumi , Adjara, Georgia
Located on the coast of the Black Sea, in southwestern Georgia, the area offers beautiful historic villages, monasteries, and monuments along with nature.
7. Zagreb, Croatia
There’s much history in this region dating from Roman times. It is located in the northwest along the Sava river and at the foot of the southern slopes of Medvednica Mountain.
Expect dramatic cliffs and incredible hues of blue in the ocean.
9. Sibiu, Romania
Sibiu is a magnificent historical city in Transylvania, northwest of Bucharest and is a UNESCO site. In 2019, it was named the European Region of Gastronomy.
10. Kotor, Montenegro
This World Heritage Site features incredible food and historic sites such as the 15th through 17th fortifications built along the Adriatic Sea.
11. Vienna, Austria
This beautiful and historic city is magical offering plenty of history and architecture.
