Paris Haute Couture Show
Jan 22 @ 1:17 pm

Founded in 2012 (2011 as Fashion Week Dates), FashionWeekOnline.com was the first website wholly dedicated to organizing the international fashion week calendar, hosting live streams from the “Big 4,” and helping promote and demystify fashion week for the press and general public.

Our goal has always been the same: to promote fashion, popularize and promote fashion week in the form of news, calendars, and live streams, and give emerging designers the ability to be seen and discovered.

The Screen Actors Guild Award (also known as the SAG Award) is an accolade given by the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) to recognize outstanding performances in film and primetime television.

It is considered an indicator of success at the Academy Awards. The awards have been telecast since 1998 on TNT, and since 2007 have been simulcast onTBS.

The inaugural SAG Awards aired live on February 25, 1995 from Universal Studios’ Stage 12. The second SAG awards aired live from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, while subsequent awards have been held at the Shrine Exposition Center.

Venice Carnival Masquerade Balls and Events- Italy
Jan 27 @ 1:24 pm

The Carnival of Venice is an annual festival, held in Venice. The Carnival starts around two weeks before Ash Wednesday and ends on Shrove Tuesday (Fat Tuesday or Martedì Grasso), the day before Ash Wednesday.

The Venice Carnival is now world famous – it always takes place during the ten days leading up to Shrove Tuesday. Carnival, being a pre-Lent festival, means ‘farewell to meat’ and is celebrated throughout Italy.

It was first held in Venice in the 11th century and consisted of over two months of revelry, until it fell into decline during the 18th century. It was revived in 1979 with great success and nowadays it is a great excuse to don a mask and costume, parade around the city, enjoy the live music in the main squares of the city, the events organised by the tourist board and is a wonderful open-air festival where everyone can join in. Fantastic costumes are displayed in St Mark’s Square and Venice is the perfect back-drop for amazing photographs.

Carnival in the 18th century began with a series of balls in St Mark’s Square, as can be seen on the fresco on the walls of the famous café Quadri’s. Fortunes were squandered every night of Carnival in the Ridotto Gambling casino, whatever the social status all the people wore costumes and masks, many connected to the Commedie del’Arte, Harlequin, Columbine, the Plague Doctor and of course the courtesans.

Grammy Awards – NY
Jan 28 @ 7:00 pm

After alternating between Los Angeles and New York for much of the Grammys history, the show moved to LA’s Staples Center in 1999 after a public feud between then-Academy head Michael Greene and then-New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, and was last held at Madison Square Garden in 2003.

This will be the 46th consecutive year the awards have been broadcast on CBS. In June 2016, CBS and The Recording Academy extended their agreement to keep the trophy show on the CBS TV network through 2026.

To announce the Grammys’ return to New York, The Recording Academy worked with creative agency TBWA\Chiat\Day and director Spike Lee on a short film, titled NY Stories, featuring New York artists sharing New York musical stories. The film takes viewers on a musical tour of the city, from The Apollo Theater in Harlem to Jay Z’s Marcy Projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Check it out below.
