Golovkin and Alvarez fought to a controversial draw last September in Las Vegas, a bout that generated 1.3 million pay-per-view buys and a $27 million gate — the third-biggest in boxing history.
The two were supposed to meet in May, but Alvarez failed two drug tests, was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for six months and the rematch was canceled.
Gennady Golovkin accepted a deal for a rematch with Canelo Alvarez on September 15, 2018.
