Extraordinary Places of Nature

Next time you are looking for a nature travel trip and want to hone in on your photography skills try some of these unique and memorable places.

Fly Geyser, Nevada, U.S.A.
While drilling for water, the owners of this property hit geothermal boiling water and ultimately the geyser formed a calcium carbonate cone which now draws tons of people from all over the world.

Thermal Pools at Pamukkale, Turkey
The pools here are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in southwest Turkey. While the waters look like ice ponds, they are thermal mineral baths which were formed from springs in a cliff almost 600 feet high.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona, U.S.A.
Probably one of the most exotic and mystifying natural wonders in the United States is Antelope Canyon. The 660-foot-long sandstone formation was created by wind and water. This is a fantastic place for that extraordinary photo shoot. You must hire a guide to take you to the canyon and time is limited to one hour.

Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia
Check out Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni — the world’s largest salt flat. It’s 4,000 square miles of vastness that was left behind by prehistoric lakes that evaporated thousands of years ago. In the rainy season (December–April), when nearby lakes overflow, a mirror effect is created.

Ice Hummocks on Lake Baikal, Russia
Siberia’s Lake Baikal is one of the largest and deepest lakes in the world. During the Russian winter ice hummocks form to create the appearance of vast hills with glimmers of turquoise stones.
