Madrid: The Iconic Ritz is Set to Reopen

The 110-year-old Hotel Ritz, Madrid is set to reopen this summer as the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid after extensive renovations. The grand luxury hotel will maintain its Belle Époque style. Among items restored include: crystal chandeliers, sculptures, and antique paintings.

The hotel which is located in the Golden Triangle of Art (Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofa museums) and near a posh residential district has always been a highly sought property to stay at. The property will offer rooms and suites including the Royal Suite and the Presidential Suite will offer views over the Prado museum, as will two new suites, each with private balconies.

Chef Quique Dacosta, who has the three-Michelin-starred Denia restaurant in Alicante, Spain, and the two-Michelin-starred El Poblet restaurant in Valencia, Spain, will oversee culinary operations at the hotel’s five restaurants and bars. Among the dining an drink options will include the Quique Dacosta restaurant, the Ritz Garden, the Ritz Bar and the Champagne Bar.

Wellness is also a strong point here with its heated indoor swimming pool, a vitality pool, experience showers, a steam room, fitness center, and a dedicated area for beauty and massage treatments.
